The normal reaction for most people when they come in from the sun is to grab a bottle of Soda and down it one go. It is refreshing right? Wrong, it is harmful so why don’t you get refreshed in the right way by grabbing a jug of cool water melon juice. It has immense health benefits so here goes.
Water melon is delicious and extremely healthy, they are rich in potassium, a nutrient that can help control blood pressure, regulate heart beat and possibly prevent strokes. It reduces the risk of developing kidney stones and possibly age related bone loss. Adult should at least consume about 4,700 milligrams of water melon per day. They are also abundant in vitamin c and beta-carotene , which is believed to prevent heart diseases, cancer, and other chronic conditions. Water melon is a valuable source of lycopene, one of the carotenoids that have actually been studiedand proven to be of immense health benefits to the human body. Research shows that lycopen is helpful in reducing the risk of prostrate, breast and endometrial cancers as well as lung and colon cancer. Watermelon contains Vitamin A which helps maintain eye health and is an anti-oxidant, Vitamin C which helps strengthen immunity, heals wounds, prevent cell damage, promote healthy teeth and guns and Vitamin B6 which helps brain function and helps convert protein to energy.
Water melon can be taken either whole or as juice.

HOW TO PREPARE WATER MELON JUICE
MATERIALS
Water Melon (One medium sized portion)
Water
Sugar
Flavourings(optional)
PROCEDURE
1.       Wash and peel water melon
2.       Remove seeds
3.       Dice into cubes
4.       Blend with a blender
5.       Pass blended portions through a sieve
6.       Gradually use scoop to press it down on the sieve
7.       Pasteurize together with sugar
8.       Cool and serve chilled.

BITTER LEAF SOUP. RECIPE/PREPARATION



Onugbu soup

They say good food is the best route to a man’s heart. Feed him the exquisite and sumptuous dishes of our motherland and he will be too well fed to think about that little sexy vamp on the next street. Just remember that sometimes bitter leaf soup is so sweet that he will come running home before that Champions League or Premiership match. And while he is screaming for either Chelsea or Man U, -Arsenal fans forget this lol- let the aroma of this famous Ibo delicacy waft from the kitchen to the living room and your man will always be home where you want him.
BITTER LEAF SOUP (OFE ONUGBU) RECIPE/PREPARATION
INGREDIENTS
Beef- optional
Stock Fish
Smoked Fish
A bunch of Bitter leaves
Cocoyam (thickner)
Palm oil
Dried Pepper
Ogiri
Maggie Cubes
Water
Salt

METHOD OF PREPARATION



.Wash and boil the stock fish for twenty to thirty minutes to soften
.Peel and boil the Cocoyam until it becomes soft.
.Place Cocoyam in mortar and pound into a paste.
.Boil a litre of water in pot
.Add palm oil, Stock Fish with its stock, washed and boned dried fish, crayfish either ground or whole according to preference, Ogiri, Pepper and Cocoyam paste. Stir and allow to boil for twelve minutes
.Add Maggi cube and washed bitter (Onugbu) leaves.
.Cook for another four minutes until soup thickens. Taste and add salt if required
.Allow to simmer for another two minutes.

Serve with eba, semovita, or fufu as desired.
